Kalim hears the commotion and turns around. He thinks about leaving without her, but...that wouldn't be very friendly. A second later he's trotting back over and slinging his arm around Mutsumi's shoulder.

"Oh, hey, do you know these guys?"

He looks between her and them, electing to remain obliviously cheerful – sure, his friend looks kind of uncomfortable, but he's not going to make a whole thing out of it when he doesn't know who these people trying to talk to her are.
