There are a few whoops of delight at the prospect of cutting out early, and all around the room, students start packing up. Brnine watches from the front, making sure nobody gets too careless with the tools in their excitement. Another ping! comes from their pocket—Nautis reminding them to get moving, no doubt—but at this point, they just ignore it. They need to get going to find a place to transform, but they can't do that until all the kids are gone.
Finally, the last straggler shuffles out the door, and Brnine leaves and locks the door behind them. From previous incidents where they had to transform on campus, they know of a little shortcut through the wall that leads to an alcove sheltered by those silly privacy hedges. They take one last look up and down the hall to make sure no teachers or admins are coming their way, then sidle out the side door and head for that shortcut.
