This post is for players who have an approved invite to Stars of the Nashira to brainstorm AU concepts for a character (or characters, if you're trying to decide between more than one) you're thinking of apping. Post a comment using the form below with your thoughts and plans for your character's present and past lives, and reply to other people to help them decide on things they're not sure about yet or to suggest ways your character might already know theirs! If there’s a specific role that someone could fill for your character or vice versa, this is a great place to discuss those details.

Remember: you don't need to have all of this figured out before you app! The details of your characters' past lives, powers, and relationships will develop over time in game; this is just a handy opportunity to coordinate some stuff in advance.

yes i really think maomao ought to have his number in all universes. obviously since she knows his secret identity she'll be able to call him on his daily masking but i do think it would be even funnier if she figured it out somehow even BEFORE the nova knight thing

eta: i think perhaps she caught him doing something (embarrassing) that ruins his front somehow like really early on. we could probably even incorporate it into cat thread since he has no reason to keep up appearances in front of (what he thinks is) a cat lmao

WOW YES PLEASE jamil has such a chip on his shoulder about being Capable that i am looking for all opportunities to have to put him in other people's debt actually. the more people he has to be a hater about the better

i am still a bit out from being able to rp with any reliability but i would love to get a thread going with them at some point!! perhaps we can even do their awakening(s)

Re: the Aster, there would probably be a mixed response. In a society that's this stratified and focused on the nobility, the Aster are by default the Other; it comes to society dealing punishment to Constellation nobility, I think the result is often a social "culling". Natalia's case being especially dramatic because being fated to break one of their biggest social taboos is obviously a Huge Deal, but I think there are probably some in the Aster who welcome culled Constellation nobility (you KNOW people call them "fallen stars") into their caste, some who actively resent or ostracize them, and some who just don't care. It's your choice which of those you decide to lean into!

- Oh that's really good to know re: Valence's canon backstory! The previous Harbingers first presented themselves as cultural ambassadors (not TECHNICALLY untrue); I think Valence and Brnine being part of a very early political movement being against these guys getting involved with the Hassalean nobility/royalty would be great, esp because I think it would come off initially as a very isolationist movement whose reputation and standing then changes when Shit starts to go down.

- since no one else has chimed in, let's do Mutsumi and Brnine's awakenings together! Mutsumi was two people in her past life so she's going to be hella disoriented by hearing two people. And also she needs a hug

We discussed this elsewhere, but for the sake of reference: we determined that the prophecy ignored by past life Hope also foretold the horrible tragedy that befell past life Mutsumi and Mortis's Constellation, and that Hope may have misinterpreted how bad it was/who it was going to affect. I think it's worth examining too how the Oracle higher ups would have interpreted this prophecy as it relates to MutsuMortis's Constellation, and whether or not things were actually supposed to play out like this, or if the prophecy would have been "correctly" interpreted in a way that would have allowed them to mitigate the Tragedy.

Really fun when your state religion does a lot of "interpreting", huh!

maomao's not going to start the game awakened, so it will be a little bit before he can unknowingly interact with cat maomao, but tbh i think it would be very funny (and very maomao) if he did something completely mundanely embarrassing where only she could see it once upon a time

so we've talked about past life stuff but have we established whether or not these guys know each other outside of class.... mutsumi's parents are also ultra rich and im personally narratively satisfied with minami mori being involved in some kind of crime. but that part is optional

ok so we decided that mutsumi & brnine will have a joint awakening but the question is: what kind of student is mutsumi in brnine's class. mutsumi is generally a really good student but i have NO idea how she would be in a shop class or in fact why she would opt to take one. mortis WOULD enjoy it though maybe she only signs up for the class after mortis has decided to start fronting outside of going supernova

NO UHHH in all seriousness i do NOT think it would be a huge stretch for minami to be involved in organized crime in some way, even if not deeply. just like in the way rich people are. i think this could actually be potentially interesting so i'm going to take more thought on it

i REALLY love the way they're vibing as friends in their tdm thread though. i think it would be a cute mirror of their past lives if they had contact as kids in rich people circles the same way that melos & mori had contact with past life kalim and jamil but she's def more comfortable around kalim.

certain aspects of natalia are so sakiko-coded that i was like wow. if it wasn't like a fundamental part of natalia's whole deal to have just recently arrived from a far off land then she might have been a really great candidate for childhood bestie

less than a year for sure; crychic both formed and broke up in the previous school year. i want to say its probably been less than 6 months since the breakup. i think kalim DEF would have had a chance to see them play though. and it was probably pretty conspicuous when she stopped bringing her guitar to school
